The CIF Disinfectant from Unilever stands out for its effectiveness and eye-catching packaging design. The aluminium cans (59*200mm format) are produced by Trivium Argentina and the product is the first homecare aerosol in Argentina to be launched in an aluminium can. The product comes in multiple scents, including lavender and citrus. The sustainability credentials of the cans are notable, as they are made from Trivium´s proprietary advanced aluminium alloy, which significantly boosts the cans’ durability while reducing their carbon footprint. The alloy decreases the packaging weight by up to 25% compared to pure aluminium, thereby reducing the product’s CO2 emissions. It contains 8-10% recycled content and is made in a facility certified with ISO 50001 (Energy Efficiency), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) credentials. The vibrant, direct-printed graphics have enhanced shelf appeal, driving higher sales and visibility. Launching the homecare aerosol in aluminum significantly added value for Unilever by aligning with its sustainability goals and strengthening its position in the disinfectant aerosol market—a category traditionally dominated by competitors. The effort has paid off: the product is performing strongly in the market, demonstrating both robust sales and positive consumer response.
