Founded in 1983 in Parma, Italy, the Davines Group began as a research laboratory that developed high-end hair care products for renowned cosmetics companies worldwide. 10 years later, the company created its own brand of Davines hair care products and is now represented in more than 90 countries worldwide. The aluminium aerosol cans in the line come from CCL Container in the USA. With their purist, elegant appearance, they epitomise the brand philosophy: the sustainable creation of beauty. The filigree, finely nuanced colour design of the cans creates an unmistakable look. This is supported by the truly challenging artwork. The artist must begin with an RGB photoshop file and convert that to CMYK. Those channels then must be converted to spot colours to make the file dry offset compatible, while matching as closely as possible to the original RGB image. Colour selection is also key to the final look. Having to match these colours on the gold base coat adds another challenge to this stunning family of products.
