Beiersdorf’s Nivea brand released a limited edition of floral fragrance anti-perspirant earlier this year that was produced by German aerosol can manufacturer Tubex. Nivea chose a floral, lively, yet delicate design that perfectly transports the fragrance of the antiperspirant. The extremely fine screen makes the design very lively and realistic. The small blossoms of the lavender have been extremely well printed. Several production steps must be perfectly aligned to reach this print quality. The repro builds up the screens, ink preparation mixes the perfect colour tone and the printer needs to dose the right amount of ink onto the can and also programs the printing device. If one of these steps is not perfect, a small blossom like the lavender or the light green leave of the bergamot will appear dull and without depth. For example, the veins of the light green leave are perfectly visible, even better with a magnifying glass. Such is the size and attention to detail.
